- Hours: This is a small part-time position with flexibility for up to 10 hours a week. Weekly hours must be tracked.

Job description
This is an opportunity to serve Vineyard Ottawa Church as the Coordinator of the VO Kids Program. It is currently a small but growing ministry from ages 2 – 11. The coordinator would be responsible for organizing and managing the program with operational efficiency by coordinating the volunteers, schedules and resources. Some administrative skills are required and shared with the Church Administrator. Friendly interactions are needed with teachers, leaders, volunteers, parents and the children of the VO Kids Program. Leading occasional meetings will require some teaching and communication skills. Someone with previous experience leading children’s ministries is desirable, but not essential.
Essential skills and requirements
- Organization and communication skills, fluent in English – oral and written.
- Working knowledge of computer programs -Word, Excel and Email.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Ability to keep information and records confidential.
- Attend regular Sunday morning services to give oversight and assistance if/as required for the VO Kids program. Three hours of the 10 hours per week would include Sunday mornings.
- Fully support the Vineyard Statement of Faith and comply with the screening, training, and orientation process with Plan to Protect.

Responsibilities specific to the VO Kids Program
- Manage the operations of the VO Kids Program according to the Policies and Procedures of Vineyard Ottawa in conjunction with the Plan to Protect Coordinator. Obtain a basic working knowledge of the Policy as it relates to the VO Kids Program. Training and Orientation will be provided.
- Meet with the Leadership Team for updates and give reports as needed.
- Supervise and ensure the VO Kids program operates on an ongoing basis on Sunday mornings by providing the following:
- Oversee/Create the schedule for the volunteers, helpers and teachers, coordinating last-minute changes to ensure programming can function ideally.
- Order appropriate curriculum, choose the videos, and ensure the volunteers have the necessary materials to be prepared for each Sunday.
- Have appropriate and current information posted on the bulletin boards in the classrooms.
- Maintain communication throughout the year by meetings, zoom calls, and/or emails to the VO Kids volunteers and parents when necessary
- Be ready before the Sunday morning service with the following:
- Ensure/delegate the proper set-up of the Purple Room, with materials, snacks, video, AC/heat, check in with volunteers, troubleshoot problems and oversee/delegate tear-down.
- Ensure/delegate the proper set-up of the Nursery, and Littles’ Room making sure things are ready and in order with adequate supplies.
- Assist the Administrator if needed on Sunday mornings with the triage and intake of children (regular and visitors)
- Serve once a month in the program rotation as a teacher or helper, and be available to fill or designate the role of Hall Monitor if needed on a Sunday morning.
- Bring creative ideas for special Sundays, i.e. Christmas and Easter Sunday for the kids.
- Arrange occasional and random supervisory checks of the VO Kids classes.
- Communicate important information to the teachers regarding learning disabilities, allergies, livestream permissions, etc.
- Assist with any reports/allegations of abuse from within the VO Kids ministry.
- Co-lead occasional teacher meetings with the Plan to Protect Coordinator.
- Other VO Kids duties and administrative tasks as needed.
